No matter what profession you’re in, having the right tools makes all the difference. So, when we designed the Uber Freight app, we listened to what carriers and their drivers had to say about the challenges facing them (and we continue to listen today). The end result was a tool that gives owner-operators and small fleet owners more control over their businesses and opportunity, no matter where the job takes them.
The Uber Freight app broke new ground, but we didn’t stop there. Since its 2017 release, we’ve made several updates and changes to the app — many based on suggestions received directly from the trucking community. Fusing the latest technology with our global logistics expertise not only benefits carriers, but it’s also earned the respect of the industry. In November, we earned a spot on the Freight.Tech25 created by FreightWaves.
Below we’ve highlighted some of the most popular benefits of using the Uber Freight app. You’ll see some of its latest features along with some of the original ideas from the app’s initial launch. All which aim to help carriers build their businesses through efficiency, opportunity, and innovation.
The intuitive interface of the Uber Freight app makes it simple to find and book a load. The app displays key information — like the load price, shipping facility, and location — that carriers need to make a decision that’s right for them. Once a carrier finds a load they want, a single tap is all it takes to make it theirs.
One of the biggest stress points for carriers is the rate on their loads. With the Uber Freight app, prices are provided upfront. Transparent pricing eliminates haggling and the time wasted with back and forth negotiations, allowing carriers to hit the road faster.
Our app not only connects carriers to loads, but it also gives them a way to voice their feedback on the facilities they visit. Using the facility ratings feature, carriers and their drivers have the ability to leave star ratings and written reviews right in the app. This information helps carriers make more informed decisions on which loads to book and provides shippers with feedback to improve their operations.
Facility ratings is one of the newest features on the Uber Freight app, and already one of the most popular. We received more than 100K ratings in the first few months after launching.
With fleet mode, dispatchers can assign or reassign loads, see driver schedules and availability, monitor shipments on the fly, and more. This feature gives fleet owners and managers a wide range of abilities to increase efficiency and control of their operations — all from their mobile device.
Every day, we continue to build on the momentum of the Uber Freight app. In the coming months, we’ll introduce new features and upgrade existing tools to make our app even more powerful for carriers.
